You’ve heard of the 12 Days of Christmas, but have you heard of the 12 Swims of Christmas? Read on to find out more.

This is Sinead! She’s a Personal Trainer by day (@sineadmcgillfitness) and by night, for the next twelve days, she’s going to be swimming the equivalent length of the channel and back in aid of KEEN Oxford.

She’ll be swimming alongside her friend, Cam, before work, between clients and after work, every single day for 12 days - with weekdays in the pool and weekend swims and the final three days in Bicester Open Water Lake (currently 7C, brrrrr!).

…but why, I hear you cry?

Aside from enjoying a challenge, Sinead’s motive for doing this fundraiser is a very worthy one. She’s swimming in memory of her Aunty Vaughney and on behalf of KEEN, as she believes in KEENs goal to create, support and promote inclusion for everybody.

Aunty Vaughney, born with cerebral palsy but never once let it stop her from always living life to the absolute max. She was my biggest cheerleader, fellow Christmas enthusiast & the kindest most caring person I will ever meet.

12 days, 12 swims, 42 miles!

We met today to give Sinead some essential KEEN tshirts/stickers etc and to learn more about what she’s doing and why. We are in awe of this ‘slightly mad, but incredibly worthwhile challenge’ (her words!). A reminder - that’s 12 days, 42 miles, and 12 swims between the 12-23rd December. Wow.

We'll be cheering her on every step of the way and are honoured to have been chosen as her nominated charity. Thank you, Sinead. You’re a KEEN Superstar if there ever was one!
