What’s the commitment like?
Most positions ask for about 3 hours a week, although some (like President) are 4-6 hours. Each position is also yearly (so three terms). We aim to be as accommodating as possible, so let us know how we can adjust to you.
What’s in it for me?
The skills you’ll gain through being on the KEEN Committee are invaluable for future careers and volunteering opportunities. You’ll develop empathy and patience, and boost your organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
On top of that, you’ll be making a real difference in your community and having fun!
What positions are up for grabs?
President: Head the KEEN Oxford student committee, by ensuring we have a sustainable and strong volunteer structure. Be an important voice in our student body and have your say in the day-to-day runnings of the charity.
Secretary: Organise committee meetings, materials and resources while having your say in how we run. Ensure everybody knows what they’re doing and support them where you can.
Team Outreach: Help us grow by reaching a wider community and recruiting more team members and committed volunteers. Work with community organisations, bring a diverse range of Session Buddies to sessions and represent us at exciting events across the city.
Brookes Representative: Represent KEEN among the Brookes University community - encourage others to join us, organise events and support the President with their tasks and responsibilities.
Socials and Events: Organise our socials each term and be a crucial part of building our tight-knit, community feel.
General Committee Member: Help KEEN run smoothly and be on hand to help with a diverse range of areas within the charity. This is a great introduction into KEEN and a nice way to join if you’re not sure where your strengths lie.
AllSorts Coordinator: AllSorts is our Saturday sports session, and as coordinator you will ensure that we have experienced Session Leaders planning and running each week. This role comes with high responsibility, but is a rewarding and fun way to be a part of the community.
Oxford College Rep: Share you love of KEEN with others! This is a low commitment position in which you represent KEEN to your college community by advertising and promoting our work.
